L. Michelle, Director of Strategy
L. Michelle believes there is a spark within all living beings. When each individual spark is allowed to express itself to its highest potential, all things benefit and prosper from its unique contribution. To that end, L. has committed herself to support initiatives that honor and empower people and planet—from education, equity, and economic opportunity to health care, sustainability, and environmental awareness. L. is passionate about volunteering and believes that the investments we make in one another create meaningful, positive changes that improve the quality of life for all.
L. holds a Master’s Degree in International Community Development from Northwest University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Washington. She is a long time member of Rotary International and has served as President of her local Rotary club. L. Michelle has participated in a number of humanitarian missions, including a cataract eye surgery camp in Ethiopia and assisting farmers with education and technology in West Bengal, India. For the past 10, years L. Michelle has expressed her advocacy and passion for education as a spokesperson and communications director for two public school districts in Washington State.
L. Michelle says that she is proud to serve on the Spreeha Foundation Board to support our mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through health care, education, and skills training. L. has visited Spreeha Bangladesh to see first-hand how the Spreeha model has proven itself in the Rayer Bazar Slum in Dhaka where Spreeha’s clinics, preschools, and skill centers have helped improve the quality of life in the slum significantly in the past five years. Spreeha is now one of many agencies who has mobilized to assist the Rohingya refugees and is poised to extend its model to additional regions and countries. L. Michelle says she hopes she may be of service in helping Spreeha advance into these new areas of great need.
